Dr. Horrible is my new lover

I am a whore for all things Joss Whedon. That means I would metaphorically have sex with anything Joss Whedon produces for money. Hell, not even for money. I would copulate with any TV show, movie, comic, book, webisode, email, grocery list, or doodle he produced. So you can imagine how worked up I am over the new trailer for his web musical "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog".

I'm sure it will be brilliant. (My typical reliance on skepticism and objectivity disappears whenever Mr. Whedon is involved.) And who can't love the pairing of Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillon as arch-nemeses. This will be even better than the Fringe pilot!

Are you watching? Because it's flipping hilarious! My favorite part so far is Nathan Fillion's entrance...

It was frakkin' awesome! I had to download the first episode from itunes since the official Dr. Horrible website crashed because of all the traffic. I can't wait to see the next two!

What did you think about the ending? Pure Joss Whedon. Make you cry with laughter then rip your guts out at the very end. Man, NPH is my hero.

Speaking of "frakkin", I've finally started BSG. I'm still in the first season, but I have the first 2 1/2 seasons on DVD to watch!

I loved the ending. Very much a "this is how people become evil" story, with singing and witty lines added for our viewing pleasure.

My favorite part is when Captain Hammer is telling Dr. Horrible how he's going to have sex with Penny that night and he makes some reference to "his other hammer." And then a few seconds later he comes back into the screen and says "that was referring to my penis." Not those exact words, of course, but absolutely hilarious.

So what do you think of BSG so far? Brillian, I assume! I actually would love to use some episodes as material for my dream class that I hope to one day teach - science fiction and international politics. About half the political allusions in the show are about the current war in Iraq, terrorism, torture, etc.

"The hammer is my penis." I laughed and laughed and watched that scene so many times! Nathan Fillion knocked it out of the park.

Good point re: becoming evil. Dr. Horrible was evil but not evil enough to join the Evil League of Evil. Yet, kill the love of his life, and all goes out the window. He could have turned around for her, but now he is more evil than ever. It's fascinating and oh so sad. Kick to the gut sad, really.

I am enjoying BSG! I was initiated into it by someone who despises Baltar, so there was much fast forwarding and explaining of scenes while trying to get through the mini-series and first episode. I'm up to episode 9, but we skipped episodes 2 and 3. I will eventually go back and rewatch. :) I really enjoy the pilots, Tyrol, and Adama/Roslin! :)
